Natural gas compressors in pumping stations - Romania

Natural gas compressors in pumping stations - Romania

Areas with explosive atmosphere due to the presence of gas

For the transmission of the natural gas among the national territory, Romania has a 13,000 km long pipe network, also in connections with neighbour countries.
Along the pipeline connected to Moldova, in two of the junction stations where the gas is derived to local cities, new compressors have been installed.
A gas compressor is a mechanical device that increases the pressure of a gas by reducing its volume at the same time pushing it ahead in the pipeline to the next pumping station.
In such an enivorenment, classified as ZONE 1 according to the Atex 2014/34/UE Directive, where the high risk of explosion is implicit in the presence of the natural gas and the process, when it comes to juncion boxes for electrical derivation, only products with ATEX-IECEx certification in category “Ex II 2GD” are admitted.
That’s why the contractor chose ZENITH-S Series junction boxes made of AISI316 Stainless steel completed with Nickel plated brass cable glands for armoured cable to on related shrouds and
ZENITH-P junction boxes made of thermosetting GRP material, customized by Scame according to it’s specific needs in trems of cable netries and inner components.
Products whose accurate design and manufacturing has been proved on the field, overcoming the toughest of tests: the complete satisfaction of the client.
