Fume extraction switch disconnectors

E-mobility charging stations installed at EXPO 2021 in Dubai.
As part of a major fire safety compliance initiative, the Malmö General Hospital (MAS)—one of Sweden’s leading healthcare facilities—has been equipped with a new smoke extraction system in its underground service tunnels.

This high-criticality project demanded maximum operational reliability, full compliance with F400 fire resistance certification, and meticulous planning with no disruption to hospital operations.
To ensure the highest safety standards, ISOLATORS-FR Series switch-disconnectors by Scame were installed in the F400 version, capable of withstanding temperatures of 400°C for 120 minutes.

The switch body, the core of the system, is made of GRP (Glass-fibre Reinforced Polyester), a thermosetting material considered the best polymer for ensuring dimensional stability at high temperatures—essential to maintain power supply continuity for the equipment required to operate in emergency situations caused by fires and the resulting release of hazardous smoke.

Enhancing this performance profile is the robust external enclosure made of die-cast aluminum with a high-resistance epoxy-polyurethane coating, along with an ergonomic, high-visibility handle that can be locked in both ON and OFF positions, ensuring maximum safety for personnel during routine inspections.
