The ROLLER series of cable reels is designed for use with mobile or portable appliances and comes complete with plug, supply cable and sockets already attrached.
With the ROLLER series SCAME offers a complete range which will certainly satisfy most requirements.

The ROLLER range consists of 5 Series:
- AUTOROLLER Series
Cable reels that are designed forfixed installations either inside or outside and equipped with an automatic cable rewind mechanism that works through a spring device with a memory (patented).
- ROLLER 330 Series and
ROLLER-BLOCK 330 Series
Cable reels designed for indoor or outdoor work in a domestic or similar environment or for industry. The reel has a diameter of 330 mm. The ROLLER-BLOCK models are suitable for mounting with the BLOCK 4 distribution assemblies: the assembly/cable reel is portable.
- ROLLER 450 Series and
ROLLER-BLOCK 450 Series
Cable reels designed for indoor or outdoor work, for industrial use and with a reel of 450 mm diameter. The ROLLER-BLOCK models are suitable for mounting with the distribution assemblies BLOCK 4: the assembly/cable reel is mobile with wheels.

ROLLER Series cable reels are made up of a thermoplastic which has the following characteristics:
- heat and fire-resistance IEC 670
- self-extinguishing properties to IEC 695-2-1 (650°C)
- higt impact-resistance even at low temperatures
- higt electrical insulation, dielectric strength and and non-tracking properties
- good thermal and dimensional stability
- operating temperatures: -15°C to +60°C
- outstanding resistance to diluite mineral acids, alkaline solutions, alcohols, greases and mineral oils
- stabilised to withstand ageing.

Most common uses:
- for installations in domestic environments, kitchens, offices.
- for domestic appliances even in damp environments.
- for fixed positions and for connections to mobile appliances.
- for connection subjects to medium mechanical stresses (washing machines, hair dryers, fridges).
- can be used for kitchen and heating appliances as long as the cables do not come into contact with the heated parts and are not subject to thermal radiation.
- suitable for internal use, also in dry or damp premises.
- not suitable for permanent outdoor installations.
- suitable for outdoor use only on an intermittent or temporary basis.
- can be used in work environments as long as there is not excessive wear and tear (for example dressmakers or similar workplaces).
- minimum bending radius advised: 8 times the maximum external diameter for mobile use.
- traction force during installation: it is advisable to no exceed 50N per square millimetre of copper section (sum of the section of the conductors).

- for outdoor installations in dry, damp or wet places, and in potentially hazardous workshops.
- for connections subject to medium mechanical stress - appliances in agricultural workshops or building sites, portable lamps, electric tools, motors...
- up to 1000 V can be used in fixed installations with protection (inside the conduit and the appliances).
- minimum bending radius advised: 8 times the maximum external diameter for mobile use.
- traction force during installation: it is advisable to not exceed 50N per square millimetre of copper section (sum of the sections of the conductors).

Made up of an impact-resistant engineering plastic, they feature high mechanical strenght. The colour is RAL 3020 red.
A patented device ensures quick and safe rewinding.
Either of the following two options can be set by a selector:
- partial rewind as far as a preset position (allowing the required lenght of cable to remain unreeled)
- full rewind

The main applications are:
- for light to medium-duty applications, indoors or outdoors, industrial premises, workshops, etc.
- for connections subject to medium-level mechanical stresses in industry, workshops and on farms (such as portable lamps, electric tools, motors, etc.).
- for static installation, although can be attached to mibile equipment.
STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS

- Wall mounting bracket
made up of an engineering plastic, it is designed to hold the cable reel and allow it to swivel through 310°.
- Automatic rewind unit
A sturdy casing made up of engineering plastic contains the automatic cable rewind device, which is made up of a high-strenght spring.
Electrical continuity is maintained at all times by means of an integral slip-ring configuration (rated at 10 A).
Two rollers located at the cable outlet ensure kink-free rewinding.
- Selector
The cable rewind device offers different options, as explained in the instructions. The required function is selected by turning a knob that can be padlocked.
- Transformer (SELV)
An isolating transformer can be fitted on the wall bracket. A luminous two-pole switch connected to the primary winding indicates ON/OFF status, while a fuse on the secondary winding protects the transformer against overcurrents.
- Cable
Cable lenght up to 16 m can be wound onto the drum.
Problem-free winding of both PVC and rubber cables is assured.
- Power supply
Power can be supplied either through the rewind unit or through the reeling cable.
Factory-wired units supplied by SCAME come equipped with a plug connected to the drum casing by a cable, and with a connector or a portable lamp connected to the reeling cable.

Made up of self-extinguishing engineering plastic, they have a high mechanical resistance and come in RAL 7035 grey. ROLLER 330 Series cable reels are well suited for use in workshops, industrial, commercial and domestic premises. The various configurations available will satisfy the requirements of most modern installations.

APPLICATIONS

The versions with a PVC cable are for domestic applications, where the work is indoors away from water and not particularly heavy work (for example, laindries, photographic stuios, plant nurseries, do-it-yourself, fashion, and service industries in general). The versions with an abrasion resistant rubber cable are designed to be used in situation where the work environment can be hazadous because of water, dust, knocks, vibrations or wear and tera (for example building sites, demolition sites, joinery, carpentry and heavy work sites in general).

- Portable cable reel and distribution assembly stands:
Manufactured from zinc-plated steel tube with ergonomic grip in insulated material and elastic hook to block the reel. The distribution assembly stand has provision for press-on mounting of BLOCK 4 distribution assembly.
- Drum 330 mm
Made up of engineering plastic with an integral cable rewind knob.
The inlet of the cable inside the drum passes through a cable sleeve which protects the internal wiring from any penetration of liquid or dust.
The components of the electrical system (sockts, cables, and thermal overload switch and contractor if present) are housed within the drum.
- Socket holder disc
Different socket discs are available for various socket combinations.
The push button for the thermal overload switch is protected by a trasparent cover and it is located on the socket holder disk where the conditions of use are listed. A cable clamp secures the incoming cable at the drum, preventing tensile stress on the cable from causing damage to terminals on the appliances.
- Plug and sockets
Made up of impact-resistant, self-extinguishing material, they comply with IEC 60309, have IMQ  aprroval as well as approval ratings from other European quality mark institutions.
- Cable
The versions for domestic applications have a PVC (H05VV-F) cable. The industrial versions have an abrasion resistant rubber cable (H07RN-F).
- Thermal overload switch
Bimetallic device that is put in direct contact with the supply cable and checks that the operating temperature does not exceed pre-sets limits. If there is abnormal over-heating, the overload switch opens the circuit and cuts off the power supply.
Reactivation is only possible manually and if the temperature is below the intervention threshold.
- Contactor
Installed in series in the main circuit if three-phase.
Controlled by the thermal overload switch.

- Portable cable reel stand and wheeled stand for distribution assemblies
Made up of corrosion-proof steel tube, both stands are stroong, stable and durable. The wheeled stand has two rubber wheels which make it easy to move the assembly about.
A holder plate, fastened to the wheeled stand, makes it easy to mount the BLOCK 4 Series quickly using two metal brackets included in the accessories kit. Moving the cable, laying it out and rewinding it can be done quickly and easily.
- Rear-mounted disc
The disc is made up of impact-resistant thermoplastic material. An adjustable thumb-screw brake stops the drum from turning and keeps the cable extended at the required length. The brake prevents over-runs when the cable is being drawn-out and rewound.
- Drum 450mm
Made up of thermoplastic. A cable sleeve prevents liquids entering the supply cable inlet. A cable clamp secures the incoming cable at the drum, preventing tensile stresses an the cable from causing damage to the terminals of the appliances. The drum can house a safety transformer.
- Front-mounted socket-holder discs
Different types of all discs allow for several combinations of sockets. A handle rewinds the cable easily.
- Sockets
The sockets are made up of impact-resistant, self-extinguishing material and comply with IEC 60309. They also have quality control marks from various European institutes.
- Cable
The drum allows for a cable of up to 50 m in length. ROLLER 450 cable reels are supplied with H07RN-F abrasion resistant rubber cable.
- Power supply plug
Made up of impact-resistant, self-extinguishing material, they conform to IEC 60309 and have the quality approvals of various European institutions.
- Thermal overload switch
